Emergencies

Moor Cottage provides its own emergency services as follows:

• Monday to Friday: 7.30pm - 9.00pm
• Saturday: 1.00pm - 4.00pm
• Sunday: 9.00am - 1.00pm
• Bank Holidays: 9.00am - 4.00pm

Please telephone (01344) 450345 for advice or to arrange to see the Emergency Vet. Please note that for security reasons the hospital cannot be accessed without a prior phone call and appointment.

Outside these hours emergency cover is provided by the specialist Emergency Care provider Vets Now. They have sites in Reading, Woking, Farnham and Maidenhead where a Veterinary Surgeon and Veterinary Nurse specialising in Emergency Care are waiting to be of assistance throughout the night.

Monday to Friday this service runs from 9.00pm to 7.30am. The weekend cover is slightly longer: Saturday 4.00pm to Sunday 8.30am and Sunday from 1.00pm to 7.30am Monday.

In the rare event of one of our patients needing help during these hours, we have made available personalised information sheets. Any patient with a chronic illness or specific condition can request this “Patient History – client home sheet” for their pet, well in advance of any potential emergency visit. Our team will often suggest their use where appropriate. It is also a useful document to have if you are going away on holiday or if someone else is looking after your pet for you. Such information allows for full continuity of care with the added security of knowing that we can e-mail the most up-to-date information to the duty Veterinary Surgeon at Vets Now at any time direct from Moor Cottage.
