Having qualified and trainee Veterinary Nurses who between them have a wealth of knowledge and experience, allows us to run a number of clinics to help and support our clients with the care of their pets.
The majority of advice relates to preventative care and keeping your pet in the ideal condition. Apart from helping your pet a nurse consultation can also help you as a number of these clinics are free of charge or have a reduced fee compared to that of an appointment with a veterinary surgeon!
Nurse appointments can also be made for some general check ups, clipping nails and administering of medication – we also recommend them for routine wound checks and suture removal; dressing checks and changes, and post dental checks.
- PUPPY & KITTEN CHECKS (free)- pre-vaccination checks or a further appointment once the Veterinary Surgeon has given the youngster a clean bill of health.
- ADOLESCENT CLINICS – the ‘teenager years’ for a cat or dog last for a few months from about 3-4 months of age. By this time the vaccination course is generally complete and so to help you we provide three free half hour consultations with our nurses to monitor and advise you on your young pet’s development and growth.
- WELLNESS CLINIC – for the fit and healthy, at least on the surface. It allows us to expose any problems very early if present before any clinical signs appear. If all is well then we have a base line of information for that individual for the future. Advice is also available on a variety of subjects including diet, parasite control and dental care.
- NUTRITION CLINIC (free) – covers anything from the Weight Watchers approach to using specialised diets to help keep a patient’s teeth clean to diets for supporting kidney function or diabetes.
- RABBIT CHECKS – free check up and discussion with you about your pet including diet, teeth, exercise and even bathing bunny bottoms!
- SENIOR HEALTH CHECKS – as our pets get older a number of conditions can develop. The aim of these checks is to catch any disease process or ageing changes as early as possible before any overt clinical symptoms may have arisen. This allows us to treat or support a patient at the earliest stage of a problem – always the best policy as treatment is generally more effective and less extensive. It may well only be a change of diet or the addition of a food supplement that is required.
