THE TEAM

Over the years our staffing level has steadily grown to meet the demands of our client base and our determination to provide ever improved quality care and service for our patients and their owners. This common philosophy is held by all our staff and we are justly proud of what we achieve – a friendly team working together, using each others skills to the best advantage of our patients.

VETERINARY SURGEONS:
Our team of six Veterinary Surgeons, supported by Alwyn, provide an excellent balance in medical and surgical specialist interest in addition to a strong general practitioner grounding. This allows us to manage and treat nearly all the problems we see. As we all work together in one team, we can readily utilise each other's expertise in all fields of Veterinary medicine and surgery, particularly our Certificate Holders - reducing the need for referral to a minimum and allowing a constant 'second opinion' option within the team.

NURSING TEAM:
We are again fortunate to have a rich and varied knowledge base within our nurses, one holding the Surgical Nursing Diploma. This ensures that our patient care, from anaesthetic monitoring to post-operative intensive care, from patient preparation to diagnostics, has a most critical eye and caring hand to maintain our high standards. Others nurses have further nutritional qualification whilst our Head Nurse holds a VN Supervisory Skills Certificate and is currently undertaking a Dental leadership course. This quality team is further added to with the enthusiasm of our nurse trainees, keen to learn and put their newly acquired knowledge into practise

RECEPTION TEAM:
Our team at the front line are from all walks of life and industry. This brings with it a wealth of experience and understanding to help in the variety of situations that a busy Veterinary Hospital can experience. From a simple check up appointment to coping with a more distressing critical decision, the friendly front of house team and our approachability will hopefully make your visit as stress-free as possible.

ADMINISTRATION TEAM:
The background team who keep all the paper work under control and run the non-clinical side of Moor Cottage. Not necessarily seen by our clients but a vital part of the hospital team - allowing our clinical staff to apply themselves solely to the care of their patients.

SUPPORT STAFF:
The unsung heroes that keep the place clean and comfortable for all - staff, clients and patients alike. Dealing with the garden and parking areas outside to the cleaning and laundry within.

PARTNERS:
Both Alwyn and Penny are qualified Veterinary Surgeons although our areas of responsibility have diverged as we deal with clinical issues and increasing management needs. Leading and enabling such a dedicated and quality team certainly keeps us occupied in the best possible way! Alwyn is currently President of the British Veterinary Hospital Association.
